The Enviro EF2 (EF2-1-FPI/EF2-1-FS), Enviro EF3 and Enviro Meridian all use this heat exchanger rod with knob, part EF-051. It is a stainless steel rod that passes through the hole in the heat exchanger and threads into the scraper plate, and pushing it in and out clears fly ash from the heat exchanger tubes so the stove keeps transferring heat efficiently.

When to replace it

If the rod is bent, seized, or missing its knob, weekly cleaning gets difficult and ash can build up in the heat exchanger tubes, reducing heat output over time.

Fit

• Listed in the EF2, EF3 and Meridian parts lists, from the Alliance EF3 DIN technical manual through the current EF2-1 manual.
• This is the heat exchanger rod with knob — the slider damper rod with knob is a separate part.

Installation

Let the appliance cool completely before removing or replacing the rod.
