If the glass in your wood stove door rattles, sits crooked, or lets in a whistle of air around the edges, the retainer frame holding it has likely worn out or cracked. The Enviro 1200/1700 Glass Retainer Frame (part 50-1122) replaces the worn glass-retaining frame in compatible Enviro wood stoves and wood inserts.
This frame clamps the glass into the stove door and provides the tight seal between the door and the glass pane, keeping the combustion chamber sealed as designed.
Retaining screws often corrode or seize over time. Applying a penetrating oil before removal and using the correct screwdriver can prevent stripped screws or cracked glass during the swap.
While replacing this frame, it's worth inspecting the glass gasket and glass panel itself for cracking, clouding, or gaps, since these components wear together and affect the same seal.
