If the exterior termination box on the outside wall looks exposed, corroded, or bent, and there is nothing shielding it from weather or accidental contact, it may be missing or have a damaged termination cage. The Enviro Termination Cage (part 50-3266) replaces the worn safety shield around the square termination box on compatible Enviro appliances.

Purpose

This cage surrounds the square termination box in installations where the termination sits on the exterior of the house. It protects the box from the elements and acts as a safety barrier, since the termination surface can get quite hot during operation.
