The SIT 821 Nova gas valve controls gas flow to the pilot and main burner and manages the 7-day pilot shutdown timer in Enviro's standing-pilot gas appliances. Enviro part 50-3660 is the replacement for this valve, fitting the models listed below. It is convertible between natural gas and propane.

Fit

• Listed as the S.I.T. 821 Nova Valve (7-Day) Convertible in Enviro's E30, E33, E30G, E33G, G39L, G39G, Q3L and E25 manuals, and in the Westley manual for the 821 models.
• The 821 follows the SIT 820 Nova on earlier units; the Q3L manual lists both valves, and the Westley manual uses the 820 for its 820 models and the 821 for its 821 models.
• A separate conversion screw with O-ring (50-1450) is listed for converting the Nova valve between gas types.

When to replace it

If the pilot repeatedly times out, won't stay lit, or the appliance loses consistent flame and heat output, the valve may be failing. Gas valve problems should be addressed without delay rather than worked around.

Specifications

• 7-day pilot timer: shuts down a pilot that has run 7 days without the main burner lighting; turning the fireplace on resets the timer.
• Convertible between natural gas and propane.

Installation

Installation should be performed by a licensed gas technician in accordance with local codes.
