A stove that won't light, or that needs several start attempts before the fuel catches, often points to a worn igniter. The Enviro Omega Maxx Pellet Multi Fuel Ignitor (part 50-1691) replaces the igniter and assembly in compatible Enviro multi-fuel pellet stoves.
The igniter works like a glow plug, heating to a red glow so that air passing around it becomes hot enough to ignite the fuel source. Without a working igniter, the stove cannot start a fire on its own.
Before installing, make sure the stove is fully unplugged from its power source. Since a weak or failing igniter is one of the more common reasons a pellet stove won't start, it's worth checking the igniter first if start-up problems show up.
If you're replacing this igniter, it's also worth inspecting the burn pot for warping or clogged air holes, since both parts work together to sustain a clean, consistent flame.
