The gas control valve regulates the flow of natural gas to the burner and works with the Proflame system to open and close on command, producing a dull click as it switches on or off. The Enviro DV48/Q4 Natural Gas Valve Assembly (part 50-2004) is the replacement valve for the Enviro DV48 and Enviro Q4 gas fireplaces, listed as the Valve Assembly in both units' technical and owner's manuals.

When to replace it

A valve that fails to click, sticks open or closed, or no longer responds correctly to the Proflame receiver and stepper motor is a sign it needs replacing. Gas valve issues should be handled promptly rather than worked around.
