If the room near your wood insert has gone cooler than usual, or the blower has started rattling, slowing down, or cutting out, the fan motor is often the cause. The Enviro Boston Wood Insert Fan Blower (50-2390) replaces the worn blower motor in Enviro Boston 1200 and 1700 wood inserts, and fits 2 compatible models on record.
The blower pulls room air across the body of the insert and pushes it back out, which is how the appliance turns heat into circulated warmth rather than letting it sit trapped at the firebox.
This is the blower motor only; it does not include the rheostat fan control. You may need to pull the stove out slightly to reach the blower housing, and cleaning it periodically helps it run longer before it needs replacing again.
While you have the insert opened up, it is worth checking the rheostat fan control and any related wiring or connectors for wear, since these often show strain around the same time as the blower motor.
