The firebox air restrictor controls how much fresh air reaches the firebox on tall vertical vent runs, keeping combustion steady and flame appearance correct. The Enviro Firebox Air Restrictor (part 50-3231) is the genuine Enviro replacement for the Enviro Berkeley and Enviro S40. It is an adjustable plate that comes supplied with the stove and is set according to the vent run height.

Fit

• The same part number, 50-3231, appears in the Berkeley, Berkeley IPI, S40 and S40 IPI manuals, so it is the part to order for any of these variants.
• The restrictor ships supplied with the unit and is set to the position shown on the vent graph for the installed vertical rise.

When to replace it

Enviro's manuals call for the restrictor on vertical venting runs of 10 ft or taller, using setting #1 or #2 as the vertical rise increases, with setting #2 also used for the B-vent drafthood adaptor. If the restrictor is missing, damaged, or cannot hold its set screws at the required position, replacing it keeps combustion and flame appearance correct for the vent configuration.

Specifications

• Adjustable restrictor plate with multiple settings (no restrictor, #1, #2) corresponding to vent run height
• Secured in place with set screws

Installation
