When to replace it

Urbana's manuals call for replacing the pilot line once it's damaged rather than repairing it, since the aluminum line carries fuel directly to the pilot hood. A weak, misaligned, or failing pilot flame is also a sign this assembly needs attention, since the electrode must sit no more than 1/4 in. from the pilot hood and the flame sensor must glow bright red without touching it.
