Built for the large ash pan door on a number of Enviro pellet stoves and inserts, this latch replaces the discontinued EF-178 part number. The Enviro 50-2588 door latch (part 50-2588) replaces the worn ash pan latch component in compatible Enviro pellet stoves, holding the pan securely closed during operation.

Purpose

The latch and brass bushing work together to keep the ash pan door sealed shut, preventing it from working loose as the stove runs and heats.

Other Notes

Check your ash pan height before ordering: if it measures roughly 4-6 inches, you likely need the smaller-pan latch, part 50-1730, instead of this one. EF3 Insert and EF2/EF2i Pellet Insert owners also use 50-1730, a screwdriver-type latch.

When replacing this latch, it's worth inspecting the ash pan gasket and pan itself for warping or wear, since these components see the same heat cycling and daily handling as the latch.
