If the firebox behind your logs looks cracked, faded, or scorched unevenly, the brick liner is usually the culprit rather than the logs themselves. The Enviro Black Brick Liner (part 50-3655) replaces the worn firebox liner in Enviro G39 and RZ41 gas fireplaces equipped with the logset burner.
The liner forms the decorative back and side panels of the firebox, channeling combustion gases and shielding surrounding materials from direct heat while giving the fire a finished appearance.
A damaged or misaligned liner can alter how flame plays across the logs and redirect heat unevenly through the firebox, so it's worth checking liner condition whenever flame pattern looks off. Installation should be performed by a licensed gas technician, in accordance with local codes.
While replacing the liner, inspect the log set itself, the burner pan, and any trim pieces for soot buildup, cracking, or warping, since these components work together to shape the fire's appearance.
