Preheated air delivered above the fire is what keeps a wood stove burning clean rather than smoldering, and that job falls to the secondary air tubes. The Enviro Front Secondary Air Tube (50-1099, also offered as the slightly longer 50-2601) replaces the worn or cracked front tube in compatible Enviro wood stoves and wood inserts. This part fits the front position only — it will not fit the middle or rear tube locations.
Secondary air tubes introduce preheated air above the fire, where it mixes with wood gases to sustain efficient, cleaner combustion. A damaged or missing front tube disrupts that airflow and can affect how the stove burns.
All secondary air tubes should be in place for proper operation, so inspect the middle and rear tubes at the same time you replace the front one.
Related parts to check: the top baffle (sized for either the 1200 or 1700 series) and the middle and rear secondary air tubes, since wear on one tube often signals wear on the others. This part fits 8 compatible models on record.
