A weak or failing pilot flame that won't light the main burner is often traced to the Dexen 2-way IPI pilot assembly, part 50-4295 from Enviro, the exact replacement for the models listed below. It carries the igniter that sparks to light the pilot gas and the sensor rod that proves the flame so the control module releases gas to the main burner 4 to 8 seconds later.

When to replace it

If the igniter won't spark, the pilot won't stay lit, or the module locks out even with a clean sensor rod and hood, the pilot assembly itself may be worn and due for exact replacement.
