A weak, smoky burn or visible cracking and sagging in the upper firebox tubes usually means a secondary air tube has failed. The Enviro 50-1102 rear secondary air tube (part 50-1102) replaces the worn factory tube in compatible Enviro 1200 series wood stoves and inserts.
Secondary air tubes deliver preheated air to the top of the firebox, where it mixes with wood gases for a cleaner, more complete burn. A cracked or deteriorated tube disrupts this air supply and undermines combustion.
All secondary air tubes in the firebox should be in place and intact for proper operation; inspect the remaining tubes when replacing this one, since one cracked tube often signals age-related wear in the others.
Related Parts: while replacing this air tube, check the front and side secondary air tubes and the baffle or burn plate above the firebox for cracking, warping, or heat damage.
